6365 trees will be cut for the Indore Metro: 5,000 parrots' habitats are likely to be threatened; a letter has been written to ADB.
Amidst the construction of the Indore Metro project, the issue of conserving the natural habitat of trees and birds has been raised. Advocate Amitabh Upadhyay from Indore has submitted a report to the Asian Development Bank (ADB) office in India, demanding an independent scientific assessment of the impact of the project on the population of parrots and their habitat in the project area. The report mentions the presence of around 5,000 parrots, raising concerns.
