To prevent train accidents, a 'armor' has been installed: indigenous technology is being used at the Ratlam Locomotive Care Center; 96 engines are being upgraded.
Under the Railway Mission Raftar, preparations are underway to increase the maximum speed of trains on the Delhi-Mumbai rail route to 160 kmph. For this purpose, the 'Kavach' automatic train protection (ATP) system is being installed in the Ratlam railway division for the safety of trains. The engines at the Ratlam Locomotive Care Centre, i.e., the diesel loco shed, are being upgraded with the 'Kavach' system. This system will be installed in 96 locomotives of the Ratlam Railway Division.
