CCI will not buy cotton with high moisture content, prices fall in the market.
Bhaskar Correspondent | Farmers in the Barwani area of India face two major challenges when it comes to selling cotton. Firstly, the fear of their produce being rejected by the Cotton Corporation of India Limited (CCI) due to high moisture content, and secondly, complaints of receiving lower prices from private traders. In the Anjar market, the price of cotton was between ₹7900 and ₹9510 per quintal on Monday. The National Farmers' and Workers' Federation submitted a memorandum to the farmers, requesting a minimum price of ₹11,000 per quintal.
