If this system remains strong, the state's rainfall quota may be fulfilled. The average rainfall so far has been 33 inches against the normal average of 37.3 inches. This means that 4.3 inches more rain is needed to reach the quota. According to the Meteorological Department, the monsoon season lasts from June 1st to September 30th.
