Despite the ban on the planting of coniferous and deciduous species in Indore, the matter of planting them has reached the Madhya Pradesh High Court. The Indore bench of the High Court has issued notices to the concerned departments, seeking a response, on the public interest litigation filed by law student Gopal Joshi. The petition seeks a survey of these two species of plants across the city, removal of previously planted trees, and replacement with local species.
