A case of online fraud involving a retired RBI bank officer has come to light in the Indore area of India. Contacting them after seeing an offer on Facebook to exchange old currency notes turned out to be costly for them. The fraudsters promised 9 lakh rupees in exchange for an old 50 rupee note and collected more than 59 thousand rupees from them over 16 installments under various charges. Even after paying the amount, they neither received the money nor was the old currency taken back. This incident occurred after a complaint was filed online.
