Protests by traders in Indore have intensified over the proposed surcharge on UPI payments. At a meeting of the Ahilya Chambers of Commerce and Industries, officials from various trade organizations decided to remove UPI IDs and QR codes from shops, opposing the additional fee. Traders say that they will not accept digital payments until the government withdraws the proposed fee linked to the Merchant Discount Rate (MDR).
