Kanpur: A married woman died under suspicious circumstances, with allegations of torture and failure to fulfill demands for ₹2 million (US$250,000) and a bullet.

In the Juhi Safed Colony area of Kidwai Nagar police station, a married woman named Akanksha Mishra (30) died under suspicious circumstances on Sunday night. Her in-laws called her family and informed them that Akanksha had committed suicide by hanging herself.
