The issue has gained attention amid conflicting figures on the city’s e-rickshaw fleet. During an August 21 hearing, the court was informed that around 80,000 e-rickshaws were operating in Lucknow. The Tempo-Taxi and Autorickshaw Joint Front, however, claimed around 1.25 lakh e-rickshaws were registered in the city.
