UP: The High Court has delivered a major verdict, stating that compensation will be provided for the death of an unborn child in a railway accident.

The Lucknow bench considered the death of a seven-month-old infant in a railway accident as equivalent to the death of a child for compensation purposes. The court cancelled the Railway Claims Tribunal's order and directed the family to be given an additional eight lakh rupees.
