UP: The state government is using the Goonda Act as a weapon for suppression; the High Court reprimanded it.

The Lucknow bench of the High Court has stated that the Uttar Pradesh government has repeatedly misused the Uttar Pradesh Control of Goons Act, 1970 as a tool for repression.
