In Ludhiana, India, a brother and sister were burned alive on the day before Raksha Bandhan. The sister died first due to a snake bite, followed by her brother's death 18 hours later. The deceased brother was Jobanpreet Singh, aged 8 years, and his sister was Jaspreet Kaur, aged 6 years. Both were sleeping in the courtyard of their house. Initially, the family thought they had been bitten by a mosquito. However, when the children started having difficulty breathing and began crying loudly, the family rushed to them.
