In Ludhiana, India, a man was waylaid on the road by two motorcycle-borne miscreants who posed as department officials. They accosted him under the pretext of checking and assaulted him. The accused then robbed him out of approximately 19,000 rupees from his pocket before fleeing. When passersby raised an alarm, they managed to apprehend one of the accused, while his accomplice fled the scene. The arrested individual was handed over to the police.
