A tragic incident occurred near Kaunke Kalan Puli in the Jagraon area of Ludhiana district on Thursday. A mentally disturbed young man jumped into the Akhara canal. While people working in the fields near the canal tried to rescue him, he had already drowned in the strong current of water. After receiving the information, the police reached the spot and started searching for the young man with the help of divers, but by late evening, there was no sign of him.
