In Mumbai, the immersion of Lord Ganesha idols began on the second day of the Ganesh Utsav. As of 6 pm on Tuesday, over 2,850 idols of Lord Ganesha were immersed in various water bodies across Mumbai. This was the first immersion day of the 12-day festival. According to different traditions, the immersion of Lord Ganesha idols takes place one and a half days after the installation and five days later. This year's Ganesh Utsav will continue until September 25th.
