IIT Bombay to remove ceiling fans from campus hostels: Decision after suicide case; IIT Delhi-Madras faculty and students also protest in support of the accused professor.

Following the death of IIT Bombay B.Tech student Sahil Ravindra Wakode, a decision has been made to replace ceiling fans with wall fans on campus and in hostels. A picture of the wall fan arriving at the campus also went viral on social media. According to sources, discussions about replacing the fans began after the death of a student in July. This decision was implemented after Sahil's death on September 18th. The student protests regarding Sahil's death have been ongoing.
