IIT Bombay suicide case: Professor suspended, removed from the post of Dean; allegations of caste discrimination and harassment; the institution apologized, saying it was caught cheating.

On the third day of IIT Bombay's BTech second-year student Sahil Wakode's death, a meeting was held between protesting students and the institute administration for about 3 hours on Sunday. Following this, Director Prof. Shirish Kedare signed on to a document containing 18 demands from the students. The students demanded an independent inquiry into Sahil's death, accountability of the institution, and changes in student welfare arrangements. These included forming an inquiry committee, changing the system related to student welfare, and other demands.
