Railway minister flags off new Mumbai-Konkan train, highlights Rs 18,000 crore suburban works

A new daily express train connecting Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus with Sawantwadi Road was flagged off. This service addresses a long-standing demand for a direct rail link to the Konkan region. Railways are operating 350 special trains for the festival rush and can increase this number. Projects worth Rs 18,000 crore are underway to augment Mumbai's suburban network capacity.
