In Agra, a traffic police officer was threatened by a young man who posed as an anti-corruption inspector and demanded ₹10,000. He was caught when the young man asked for his batch number.

A case of extortion by traffic police came to light at the Idgah intersection in Agra on Wednesday afternoon. A young man, who identified himself as an anti-corruption inspector, threatened traffic policemen and demanded 10,000 rupees. When a traffic SI questioned him due to suspicion based on his demeanor, the fraud was exposed. The accused was caught and handed over to Shahganj police. The accused, Sanjay Rai, is a resident of village Bhullanpur in Madwadih police station area of Varanasi. The incident occurred around 12 noon on Wednesday afternoon.
