Floods in 26 districts of UP, 3.5 lakh people affected: Rescue operations for 17 thousand so far; rainfall quota almost complete, alert in 71 districts.

Due to continuous monsoon rains in Uttar Pradesh, 26 districts, including Varanasi and Prayagraj, are affected by floods. This has impacted 353,000 people. So far, 17,544 people have been evacuated to safer places, while 5,000 people are living in relief camps. On Saturday morning, light rain occurred in 10 cities including Lucknow, Noida, Barabanki, Hardoi and Sitapur. The rest of the districts experienced light sunshine. The Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast thunderstorms in 71 districts today.
