Major News from UP: Execution of 4 accused in the Badaun double murder case has been cancelled by the High Court, stating that they cannot be convicted based on suspicion.

The Allahabad High Court has overturned the death sentence awarded to four accused by a sessions court in the infamous Badaun double murder case. Acquitting Vijaypal, Kishanlal, Ramveer, and Jaldhara, the court stated that the prosecution had completely failed to prove beyond a doubt the crime against the accused. The trial court had convicted all four accused under sections 302/34 of the IPC in September 2022. The court sentenced everyone to death.
