The path has been cleared for farmers in Greater Noida to receive an additional compensation of 64.7% for land acquired or purchased between 2002 and 2013. The Uttar Pradesh government has issued an official order on the long-standing demand of the farmers. Following the government's approval, the Greater Noida Authority will now begin the process of payments to eligible farmers. The biggest benefit will accrue to those farmers who, due to financial constraints or other reasons, were unable to approach the court for compensation.
