A new twist has emerged in the murder of an Assam native woman that occurred on the night of August 8th at a PG in Baraula village. The accused, who was brought from jail on Monday for a six-hour remand, told the police that the woman had threatened to implicate him in a false rape case. During the scuffle, the woman raised a knife to attack him. He snatched the knife and murdered her before fleeing. According to the police, the incident involved a resident of Dibrugarh district in Assam.
