In Uttar Pradesh, the loss in electricity distribution has decreased from 20.63% to 13.04%. However, 62 percent of the feeders are still running at a heavy loss in the state, with electricity theft being a major contributing factor. Now, monitoring and accountability for high-loss feeders are being established. In the financial year 2020-21, the ATC (Average Transmission Cost) loss in the state was also 31.19%, which has now decreased to 17.83%. Nevertheless, many feeders in the state still have a loan loss and an ATC loss of 88%.
