Rakesh Mehta (74), a former Chief Secretary of Delhi and 1975 batch IAS officer, committed suicide by hanging himself in his rented flat in Noida. His body was found hanging from the fan in his flat at Kendriya Vihar-2 Society, located in Sector-82 on Sunday. Police also recovered a one-page suicide note from the scene, which reportedly mentioned being troubled by illness. According to family members, Rakesh Mehta had been unwell since Sunday afternoon.
