BJP's 2 Rajya Sabha candidates from Kanpur: Gopikrishna Pandey, who is close to Modi, and Prakash Pal, the state president of the UP OBC Morcha.

The Bharatiya Janata Party has named two candidates from Kanpur out of eight names from Uttar Pradesh for the Rajya Sabha elections in 2026. These include Gopi Krishna Pandey, a resident of Baradevi Chauraha in Kanpur and close to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Prakash Pal, the state president of the BJP's backward class wing. Gopi Krishna Pandey had been working for the RSS and BJP in Gujarat for a long time. Before becoming the Chief Minister, the Prime Minister visited Kanpur in 2001.
