Today, Wednesday, is the memorial day of Bindeshwari Prasad Rao, a great freedom fighter and senior Congress leader from Champaran. A resident of Laukeria in Bairia, the late Rao inherited patriotism. During the Champaran Satyagraha in 1917, at just eight years old, while serving Mahatma Gandhi, he developed an awareness against British rule. Later on, he mobilized the youth to fight against the British.
