Munger, Khagaria, Bhagalpur, Begusarai, and Ara, along with other 12 districts of Bihar, are in the grip of floods. The flood situation has become dire due to the overflowing Ganga, Kosi, Gandak, Burhi Gandak, Punpun, Bagmati, and Dirgha rivers. Approximately 2.3 million people are affected, and so far, 20 lives have been lost. In Patna, the water level of the Ganges is above the danger mark, with several ghats submerged. At Digha Ghat, the water level in the Ganges is 1.25 meters above the danger mark. The water level at Gandhi Ghat is also a record high.
