Pitru Paksha Mela: Crowds of Pind Daanis throng Punpun Ghat: More than 1000 devotees arrive from across the country and abroad, Patna DM-SSP witness preparations; the fair will last for 17 days.

It was morning... On the riverbank, some were seen performing tarpan for their fathers, while others were engaged in offering pinddaan (rice balls) to appease their mothers and ancestors. Vedic chants echoed along the riverbank. Devotees, holding water and pindas in their hands, completed one religious ritual after another as instructed by the priests. This scene was repeatedly witnessed on Friday, the first day of Pitru Paksha, at the Punpun Ghat (riverbank). Approximately a thousand devotees were present at the Punpun Ghat.
