A flock of birds at Patna Airport, flight diverted to Varanasi: Union Minister Lalan Singh and 167 passengers were stranded on an IndiGo plane for 3 hours; this is the third such incident in a month.

A flock of birds was spotted near the runway at Patna Airport, leading IndiGo's Delhi-Patna-Delhi sector flight (6E 2453) to be diverted to Varanasi. The aircraft arrived in Patna around 4:15 pm but was denied permission for landing by the ATC. It circled twice in the sky before being sent to Varanasi due to safety concerns. The plane was carrying 176 passengers, including Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh, also known as Lalan Singh.
