Following a decrease in the water level of the Ganges River in Patna, the Patna Municipal Corporation is conducting special deep cleaning at the ghats. As part of this effort, silt, water hyacinth, garbage, and other debris accumulated around the stairs and ghats are being removed. Approximately 150 sanitation workers have been deployed at major ghats. Meanwhile, the municipal corporation is also taking action against those who litter the ghats. In the past six months, violators of cleanliness rules have been penalized.
