How the Mahananda Express derailed in Ara: The loco pilot ran 200 meters without looking and got off the wheels to back up; the signal was for the Amrit Bharat train.
The train number 15483 Alidwarpur-Delhi Mahananda Express derailed 200 meters away from Ara railway station. Bhaskar Investigation revealed that the Mahananda Express was supposed to pass by the track where it had been parked 10 minutes ago, and the Amrit Bharat Express coming from Patna was about to cross it. The station master gave a green signal for the Amrit Bharat, but the loco pilot of the Mahananda Express mistook it for his own train and derailed it.
