In the Swachh Vayu Survekshan-2026, Patna has been ranked 16th among the country's 48 cities with a population of over 10 lakh. The city scored 178 out of 37 parameters in its evaluation. Last year, Patna was ranked 27th with 164.5 points. Under the survey, for the first time, the Patna Municipal Corporation has also received two awards at the ward-level evaluation. Wards 9 and 43 have been awarded a prize money of Rs 40 lakh each. This will be used to improve air quality in the respective wards.
