In 2028, the metro will start running from Patna Junction to ISBT: The first tunnel, 7.5 kilometers long, is ready from Rajendranagar to the junction.

The first 7.5 km long tunnel of the metro from Rajendranagar to Patna Junction has been completed. This is for the up line. The construction of the down tunnel will be completed in October. Meanwhile, a ramp is being built to connect Rajendranagar to Malahi Pakri. Work on this remains, with 635 meters of the up tunnel and 587 meters of the down tunnel still pending. This is also under construction. Under civil work for this tunnel, tenders have been called for laying tracks, including electrical work and other tasks.
