In Patna, the continuous rise in the water level of the Ganges has increased the risk of flooding on its ghats. At several ghats along the Ganges, the water is flowing about 2 meters above the danger mark. The rising water levels have increased the distress of people living along the Ganges. Many ghats are submerged, and access routes have also been flooded.
