From June 1 to September 30, there was 678.4 mm of rainfall, while the average rainfall is 992.2 mm. This means that 313.8 mm less water fell. Bihar is facing drought on one hand and floods on the other. Due to rising water levels in several rivers including Ganga, Gandak, Kosi, Bagmati, and Burhi Gandak, approximately 5 million people have been affected by the floods in 15 districts.
