Mokama: The new rail bridge will be operational from October 5th. It will get the green light on October 4th, but 2 dozen trains have been cancelled due to prior work.

Trains will start operating on the Mokama railway section from October 5th, following the construction of a new rail bridge parallel to the Rajendra Setu over the Ganges River. Prior to this, the Railway Safety Commissioner will inspect and give the green light on October 3rd and 4th. The Rajendra Setu is quite old, and trains had to run at speeds of around 40-50 kmph on it. On the new bridge, trains will be able to travel at speeds of approximately 90 kmph. Currently, the Railways are working on non-interlocking and track connectivity on the Mokama, Barauni, and Hathidah railway sections.
