Patna-Gaya will become a model clean city: 2 cities from Bihar included in 'Pragati-50' initiative; garbage will be removed twice a day from markets, railway stations, and bus stands.

The central government has launched the 'Pragati-50' initiative to develop 50 major cities across the country as model clean cities under the Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban) 2.0. Patna and Gaya in Bihar have been included in this initiative. Waste will be collected twice from major city landmarks such as railway stations, bus stands, and markets. Under this initiative by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, both cities will improve cleanliness, waste management, and reused water management.
