The Municipal Corporation has increased surveillance in the Ganga ghats and surrounding areas: the danger is not over yet, as the ghats have become breeding grounds for mosquito larvae due to the decreasing water level of the Ganges.

In Patna, the outbreak of dengue is slightly lower this year, but the threat has not yet been averted. The peak season for dengue typically falls in October and November. Following a decrease in the water level of the Ganges River, water has accumulated in various low-lying areas. This stagnant water is conducive to mosquito breeding. In response, the municipal corporation is increasing special surveillance at ghats and sensitive areas adjacent to the Ganges River. Teams are identifying potential mosquito breeding sites.
