The heavy rainfall from Nepal and the breakdown of weak embankments have led to a severe flood situation in Bihar. The pressure from overflowing rivers has caused embankments to collapse in 10 blocks, further exacerbating the flood situation. Six districts are severely affected, with water entering 253 villages, impacting approximately 365,000 people. Around 44,000 individuals have been displaced and forced to seek refuge in higher areas due to drowning in the intense floodwaters.
