Dengue infections are rapidly increasing in the capital city of Patna. In the first 14 days of September, 76 new cases were reported, bringing the total to 243 for the year. Between January and August, there were 167 cases recorded, while a nearly 46 percent increase in total cases was reported in the two weeks of September alone. According to the health department, a large number of dengue positive reports are being received at private hospitals and pathology labs along with government testing centers.
