After 8 years, the termination of service of a dismissed warder was cancelled.

Nearly eight years after the sensational escape of five prisoners from Buxar Central Jail, a major verdict has been delivered by the Patna High Court in this case. In a significant relief to Upendra Das, the warder who was on duty when the prisoners escaped, the High Court has revoked his discharge order. The court deemed the departmental inquiry process flawed and not in accordance with the law. The prisoners had escaped at midnight by breaking through walls and windows.
