Fishermen's Association says - 'Old settlement system should be restored': Fish-জীবী association against amended provisions of the Water Management Act.

In the Sagar Pokhara area of West Champaran, the District Fishermen's Association held a press conference on Monday, protesting the amended provisions of the Bihar Water Management Act, 2006. The association termed these changes as detrimental to the interests of traditional fishermen and demanded their withdrawal. The press conference was presided over by Prof. Shivshankar Nishad. Fishermen's representatives expressed concerns about the impact on their livelihoods, stating that the changes in water management rules would adversely affect them.
