In Bihar, the Congress party organized a 'Kafan Padyatra' (a procession carrying a shroud) today on Teacher's Day to highlight improvements in the education system. The march was scheduled to start from Gandhi Maidan and proceed to the Legislative Assembly. Prior to this, police blocked all leaders by barricading them at JP Golambar. Along with Congress members, guest teachers also participated in the Padyatra. Teachers arrived at JP Golambar wearing torn clothes. They held a bowl in their hands, begging the government and the police for alms.
