The water level of rivers in Bihar is rising rapidly, causing severe erosion in many areas. Due to continuous rainfall in the Terai and border regions of Nepal, the Ganga, Gandak, Son, and Sarayu rivers are overflowing. In Bhagalpur's Kharik, two hundred-year-old temples were submerged by the strong current of the Ganga. The water pressure at Indrapuri Barrage in Rohtas has reached its highest level in five years, with over 520,000 cusecs of water entering the area. All 69 gates of the barrage have been opened.
