'Peaceful demonstrations are a fundamental right of students, judiciary will ensure protection and justice': CJI Surya Kant said that the confidentiality of the Collegium is essential; he interacted with law students at CNLU.

CJI Surya Kant stated that students can conduct peaceful protests; it is their fundamental right. He added that if the police take action against peaceful demonstrations, the judiciary will protect them. On Saturday, CJI Surya Kant was interacting directly with law students at Chanakya National Law University (CNLU) in Patna. During the interaction, the students highlighted the issue of disagreements recorded in the collegium not being made public, rising fees, scholarships, and the concerns of first-generation lawyers.
