A major scam has come to light in the city, where people are being defrauded in the name of property tax assessment and payment. Fraudsters are illegally collecting taxes from people by handing them receipts with fake municipal corporation logos and forged signatures. Following continuous complaints in this regard, the municipal corporation administration has swung into action. The corporation has appealed to the general public to be vigilant and clarified that property tax payment should only be made at the corporation's official counters.
