First-time reservation in PhD: Record applications received, more than 4 contenders for 1 seat

This time, there have been a record number of applications for PhD admissions at Ranchi University, with 1470 applications submitted for the 331 seats. The admissions are taking place for the first time after the implementation of the UGC PhD Regulations-2022. A total of 1470 candidates have applied for these 331 seats. This means there are an average of 4.44 contenders per seat. Additionally, this year marks the introduction of a reservation roster based on the state government's reservation policy for the first time in PhD admissions. The interviews will be held from September 24th to 29th.
