In cases of fraudulent salary withdrawals from treasuries, Khunti is now on the radar of the CID. The CID will investigate the illegal salary withdrawal scam of ₹22.46 lakh that occurred at the Specialized India Reserve Battalion-2 in Khunti. The CID has taken over the old FIR registered at the Khunti police station and re-registered the case as Case No. 15/2026 on July 13th. The main accused, accountant Sepoy Shubham Kumar, has already been arrested.
