The body of 16-year-old Sonakshi Kumari, who drowned in the Damodar River in Amlabad, Sudamdih police station area of Jharia, during the Jiutiya festival on Friday, was recovered on Sunday morning. Villagers spotted her floating in the river near Sindri Basti and informed the police. The police reached the spot and pulled her body out of the river. After that, the family identified the body as Sonakshi Kumari's. Seeing their daughter's body, the family cried uncontrollably.
